My Kindergarten Philosophy

Growing Pains of All-Day Kindergarten The last five years! [Please see the NOTE about this new year]

    Welcome to our class web page. 
We hope you enjoy your visit with us. 
This site was designed to be informative to the parents of my wonderful Kinder Kids.

There are some changes to our Kindergarten Program this year (2009-2010) because of the economy and budget woes we all face.
We will be offering half-day Kindergarten for this next year.
We will have morning and afternoon sessions each day - 2 hours-40 minutes per session.
The challenge will be to fit in all the most important experiences for your child.
With YOUR help, parents, and the wonderful staff of Beacon Elementary, I fell confident
we can do just that.  I have taught half-day for 17 years and I believe those children who
went through our program had a terrific start to their school career.
We intend to continue the quality of what we will provide to your child.

I am keeping most of what we have done the last five years on this site because many
of these experiences and objectives will continue.  I will try to label what is old
and what is new or updated for this new year.

Some of the activities might talk about all day, but I will be choosing the best of what we've done in the past
to fit into our half-time schedule.  I may not be able to edit all those pages on this site, so please just remember
that as you look through things.

It was also developed (and being added to throughout the year) to be
helpful to other Kindergarten teachers.
I have learned so much from visiting other sites.
 (Don't you love being able to share ideas and concerns
with other teachers when you go to classes?)
I hope the things we do in our class will be helpful or
inspiring to others.
