*  LATE ARRIVAL & EARLY RELEASE DAYS:
On LATE ARRIVAL DAYS, school will begin at 10:20 AM.  This is a 2-hour late start and buses will run on their regular routes only 2 hours later than their normal pick-up times. Typically, the AM Session will not come on these days.

On EARLY RELEASE DAYS, school will be dismissed at 12:00, NOON.  Lunch will be served, followed by a very short Recess for the rest of school.  Typically, PM Session will not come on these days.  Please remember to pick up your child promptly at 12:00, or make sure other arrangements are made.  Bus Routes will remain the same.

Conference Days in September and January will be different.  Look for those changes!

*  STAFF DEVELOPMENT DAYS:
Each month all of our District Staff and Administrators meet to work on various building projects.  Last year we focused on our Math curriculum.  I will try to keep you informed of the things we will be working on this year.  Having the time to get together across the District and in our own Buildings is a gift.  We have a wonderful District and Staff which is dedicated to making your child's education the very best!

*  REPORT CARD WORK DAYS:
These days are set aside for teachers to prepare Report Cards and Conferencing materials.

*  BEFORE A HOLIDAY:
The day before our Thanksgiving  Break is a half day ~ it's nice to get started early on the holiday fun!

*  LAST DAY OF SCHOOL:
June 18, 2010 is currently scheduled to be our last day of school - providing the weather cooperates with us this year!  We will be dismissed at 10:20 AM.  No breakfast or lunch will be served on this last day.

NOTE:  These days are confusing, but we will remind you - in advance & often!  Watch for Kindergarten Calendars and Newsletters!

State Inservice Day This day is set aside for teachers to attend classes and workshops in and around our area.  Many of us are required to take classes to keep our teaching certificates current.  I enjoy taking classes - they refresh me, give me new ideas, and help to make my teaching even more effective!
10/30 Spider/Halloween Party Our first class party with games and food - fun!
11/6 End of the 1st Quarter Our grading Quarters end on the Report Card Work Days.  Second Quarter ends 1/23; Third Quarter ends 3/27; Fourth Quarter ends 6/11.
11/9-11/13 Conference Week Early Dismissal Days (school is dismissed at 12:00, noon); Conferences are held with each child's parents to go over their First Quarter Report Cards and share celebrations, concerns and questions on Tuesday through Thursday.  You will receive an appointment letter several days before Conferences.  This is a great time to bring YOUR questions and concerns as well.
11/26-11/27 Thanksgiving Break Wednesday (11/25) is Early Dismissal (out at 12:00, noon) for Thanksgiving Break - see you on Monday, Nov. 30th!
12/10
(may change)
Kindergarten Winter Concert & Open House Kindergarten Winter Concert is combined with our Christmas Open House.  The evening begins in the Multi-Purpose Room at 6:30 PM SHARP for songs and poems from our Kindergartners, and then we move to our individual classrooms for a chance to see what we have been doing ~ and to pick up your special Christmas gifts we have been working hard on!     (NOTE: Date and time may change.)
12/21-1/1 Winter Break

Enjoy your Winter Break.  See you back on Monday, January 4th (AM Class only)!  Have a Wonderful Holiday!

  Conference Days, again Early Dismissal Days (school is dismissed at 12:00, noon); Conferences are held with some of the children's parents to go over their Second Quarter Report Cards and share celebrations, concerns and questions on Thursday and Friday.  If your child is not scheduled for a Conference you will be able to request one if you'd like to meet with the Teacher.
2/17 100th Day Celebration A special day to celebrate 100 Days Smarter in several fun ways.  The children should bring a collection of 100 items that are the same (such as 100 pennies, 100 Cheerios, or 100 baseball cards).  More details of some of the fun later on!
2/12 Valentine's Day Party Friendship Day for sure.  We do exchange Valentine cards and enjoy opening them up to see who they are from!  Sweet treats are also part of the fun!
3/29 to 4/2 Spring Break Hooray!  Hope the weather is nice!
6/18 Last Day of School School will be dismissed at 10:20AM.  No lunches will be served.  We end our year with a special Assembly to honor many deserving students and spend a little time together for the last time!
